Introduction to Tooltips

One of the really cool additions to Fireworks CS4 is the ability to have tooltips on just about anything you do in a document.

Step 1. Create a New Document

You need to create a new document, or open an existing one in order to toggle the tooltips. Which of course makes sense because tooltips would only be useful in a document.

Step 2. Enabling Tooltips

To enable Tooltips, go to View > Tooltips ( CMD/CTRL + ] )

Step 3. Drawing with Tooltips to help

Select the Rectangle Tool ( U ) and draw a box. As you start drawing, you will see the tooltips display the current size of the box.

If you move the mouse around the canvas without drawing, you will see the current X & Y position of the mouse.
